There’s a Crusade a few houses away. I was enjoying it until the pastor started to give his message. According to him, “there is no Krishna and Rama and Hanuman and there is no Allah”.

Now, most people who know me can attest to the fact that I have a profound respect for Christianity, Islam and other faith systems. So, I’m more than a little upset with this pastor. Why does he feel the need to tell me and my Islam brothers and sisters that what we believe in is not real?

Who is he to call Allah false? Who is he to call Rama false? He claims to have seen “his God”. Well, I’m tempted to walk out there and tell him that I have seen the same God as well.

Hinduism is less of a religion and more of a lifestyle. It teaches that there is only one God with many names. It teaches that there are many paths to God. Part of being human is having the ability to choose. Therefore, the path I choose is my own.

Islam teaches charity and respect just like Christianity. So why is this pastor calling my Islam brothers and sisters “blind”?

I was angry when I started writing this but now I know how wrong I am to feel that way. Instead of anger, I really should bow my head in prayer for the ignorant.

I’ll just stay here in my bed and try to tune this pastor out.
